This past summer, I spent some time working in the fashion world and I was so inspired to return to my blog. During my time in NY, I worked a lot with bloggers and editors. I did a lot of thinking about my own blog, what I wanted to add to it, what I wanted to change, and what I wanted to keep. I quickly found out that having your own blog is a great way for potential new jobs to see your writing style, your responsibility, your creativity and your passion. So without further ado, I introduce you to a new series I wanted to start called Kieran’s Kloset Challenge.
I think it is safe to say that I spent a good portion of my
undergrad going through my friends closet, pulling outfits for an upcoming job
interview or for a date with the cutie in Chemistry, or for every formal under
the greek sun. Due to the mass amounts of time I spent in my friends closet,
girls and boys, I have decided to add a little twist to it.
I love going through my friends clothes for many reasons,
one, because I am super nosey. Two, it is a way for me to see their
personality. You can find out SO much about a person just by what is in their
closet. If they have these bold, extravagant colors and patterns, they are
probably more outgoing, more willing to take a risk. Three, I like to see if
there is anything I can wear in there. I mean come on, who is going through
someone’s closet and not looking for something they can borrow themselves.
So, in this challenge, I go through my friends closets and
pull outfits that I would wear myself, or if its for a guy, what I think is
attractive, or what style I like the most. One of the biggest challenges I found was going through
their closet, finding a style that they are used to, and pushing that style to
a different level. I wanted them to be comfortable in their clothes, but I also
wanted them to feel like they got a whole new wardrobe. I did a lot of mix and
matching and a little old school with a little new (my personal favorite).
Meet mi amigos… Juanito & Jess. We had a little too much
fun with this.
